Terrie Mahone Photography
To know me is to know my family. Family is everything. I have two sons (ages 13 and 10) and a lovely wife who has stayed by my side for 17 wonderful years.
When I was a kid I would always grab my fathers 35mm film camera. I could load the film, change the flash bulbs and take pictures. I would pretend I was a real photographer like my uncle. My uncle worked for many years as a photographer for the United States Department of Agriculture. Uncle Robert would travel from state to state documenting the status different agricultural crops during the growing season. This information would help economist predict things like GDP and the cost of frozen concentrated orange juice. I felt this was important work, so I always admired my uncle Robert.
Growing up in the mid-west state of Michigan, I have been conditioned to have the mindset to graduate high school, get a little college experience and get a good factory job at some company and punch a clock for the next 30 to 40 years or so. The problem was, most good factory jobs in America were drying out. After the medium size pharmaceutical company that I was working for merged with giant Pfizer, I found myself moving to North Carolina with my family and starting over again.
I bought my first digital in 2001 for the birth of my first son and I haven't touched film since. At some point I will purchase another vintage film camera just to play around with but for now its all Nikon digital.
